Emilie Koutny

Funeral services for Mrs. Emilie Koutny, 98 year old Crescent resident, were held Friday at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott with Rev. Kenneth Honius officiating.  Interment prayers were said at the Funeral Home with burial to be in the Bohemian Cemetery.

Mrs. Koutny was born Emilie Buresh in Czechoslovakia on August 12, 1873, and was married in Czechoslovakia to Frank Koutny.  They came to the United States and settled in the Town of Arthur in 1908.  She spent the remainder of her life there farming and for the last ten years has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Popelka.  Mrs. Koutny died Wednesday, January 19, 1972.  She was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge.

She is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Anna) Popelka of Crescent; Mrs. G. D. (Emma) Blankenship of Texas City, Texas, and Mrs. Otto (Rose) Rajnys of North Riverside, Ill.; two sons, Fred Koutny of the Town of Arthur, and Frank Koutny of Chippewa Falls, 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband.

During the funeral service, Mrs. Ray Post sang "Rock of Ages" and "Just As I Am".  She was accompanied by Carmen Filtz, organist.

Pallbearers were Elmer Buchner, Adolph Koutny, Lyle Brandt; and David, Joseph and John Koutny.
