Libby (Libuska) Rose Mach

OREGON, Ill. — Libby (Libuska) Rose Mach of Cadott went home to her precious Savior Jesus at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Jean and Vernon Showalter in Oregon, Ill.

She was born Oct. 17, 1919, to Bohumil and Anna (Mudra) Josifek on their farm in the town of Arthur.

Libby is survived by: her daughters, Marcella (Charles) Jahr of Cadott and Jeanette (Vernon) Showalter of Oregon, Ill.; six grandchildren, Jolene (Devin) Mertens, James (Jim) and Jennilee Jahr, Rebecca, David and Philip Showalter; a sister, Vlasta Falkenberg; sister-in-law, Thelma Josifek; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 48 years, James (Jim) on Dec. 13, 1989; her parents; three brothers, Jaroslav (Jerry), Vladimer (Vlad) and Bohumir (Bob) Josifek; two sisters-in-law Lucille Josifek and Grace Josifek; two nephews, Emil and Robert Josifek.

Libby had a servant’s heart. Whenever anyone needed a helping hand she was there to provide it. Her greatest desire in life was that those she came in contact with would come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord. Loving God and loving others was the foundation of her life. She was known as “Mom” or “Grandma” to many.

She loved writing letters and maintained an active correspondence with friends around the world. She also loved to travel whenever she had the opportunity to do so with family. Libby was her family’s greatest cheerleader and was there to support them in all their activities. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild in January.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday Nov. 12 at the Bohemian Hall north of Cadott on Hwy 27. Interment will be in the Bohemian National cemetery in the town of Arthur. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to radio station WWIB in Chippewa Falls.

Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott is in charge of arrangements.
