Ellen H. Nesvacil
CADOTT
— Ellen H. (nee Zech) Nesvacil, 59, of Cadott passed away Monday
morning, June 1, 2009, at her home with family.
Ellen was born on July 18, 1949, in Lake Wissota at St. Joseph’s
hospital to Cliff and Ellen Zech. She grew up in the Chippewa Falls
area and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1967. She went
on to college at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire working
her way through college earning money as a waitress at the Hotel
Northern. She graduated in 1971 with a teaching degree with an
emphasis on history and French.
Ellen married Richard Nesvacil on March 11, 1972, and adapted to
life on a farm. Together Ellen and Richard ran a farm in the Cadott
area where Ellen learned to drive tractor and milk cows. She also
found time to teach pre-school in Cadott for 14 years.
Ellen was a dedicated and active member of Big Drywood Lutheran
Church where she acted out her great faith in God through service to
the community. She was President of the Big Drywood WELCA and was
instrumental in serving grieving families at funerals, serving the
women of the church as bible study leader and was a quiet and
dedicated servant who made ministry happen.
Ellen enjoyed bowling on a league for 15 years, horseback riding and
traveling with family on family vacations. An avid reader, Ellen
would often be found with a book in hand. Ellen had the gift of
hospitality, which was evident at church as well as the many
birthday parties, and other occasions hosted at the farm.
Ellen also had the gift of nurturing. She not only taught and
nurtured her own children but often took other children under her
wing. Her gift of love and nurture could best be summed up with a
phrase of hers, “Is this all I can do for you?”
Ellen was preceded in death by: her parents, Cliff and Ellen Zech; a
brother Randy Zech; and two infant sons, Jeffery and Matthew.
Ellen will be greatly missed by her surviving family: husband
Richard Nesvacil; sons, Greg (Janice) Nesvacil, David Nesvacil;
grandchildren, Crystal, Corey Jo and Cole Hanson and Holly and Brock
Nesvacil; as well as by her brothers and sisters, Gwen Bauman,
Barbara Wolfe, Frank (Linda) Zech, Fred Zech, Ronald (Eva) Zech,
Dennis Zech, Douglas (Lyuba) Zech; and many nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 5 at Big
Drywood Lutheran Church, town of Goetz with Rev. Diane House
officiating. Interment will follow the services in the Bohemian
National Cemetery.
