Anna Popelka

Anna Popelka, 86, resident of Town of Arthur, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 1988 at her home.

She was born Aug. 11, 1902, in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Emily and Frank Koutney. She came to the United States as a child and grew up in the Town of Arthur.

She married Joseph Popelka June 2, 1925 at St. Paul, Minn. Following their marriage they lived in Nebraska until 1948 when they moved to the Town of Arthur.

She was a 60-year member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge and a member of the Ruth Circle.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Camilla Buchner of Bloomer; one brother, Fred Koutney of Rt. 1, Cornell; one sister, Emma Blankenship of Texas City, Tex.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sister Rose Rajnys and brother Frank Koutney.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at First Presbyterian Church in Cornell with Rev. Steven Spina officiating. Interment will be in the Bohemian Cemetery, rural Cadott.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
