Joseph H. Roshell

Joseph H. Roshell, 70, Cadott died Wednesday evening at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

He was born March 21, 1909 in the town of Arthur, son of Joseph and Emma (Koskuba) Roshell. He grew up and attended school in the town of Arthur. He married Anna Nesvacil at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Jim Falls, June 9, 1931. They farmed and operated a trucking service in the town of Arthur. In 1934 he and his brother Bill founded Roshell Electric Company in the town of Arthur. They expanded to Chippewa Falls in 1949. He served as president of the company until 1968. In 1945, he moved to the village of Cadott.

He was clerk of the Big Drywood School District; a member of the board and served as village president in Cadott; a member of the Cadott Lions Club, serving as president as well as holding many district and state Lions Club offices; a charter member of the National Electric Contractors Association, serving as director and state president also serving locally as president of the Indianhead Division; member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; and a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, J. Eugene and Senator Marvin J. Roshell, both of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Josephine) Nesvacil, Cadott and Mrs. William (Emma) Stanek, Boyd; one brother Theodore, town of Arthur; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Fred.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott. The Rev. Jerome Gerum will officiate.

Interment will be made at a later date in the Bohemian Cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

ROSHELL SERVICE

A funeral service for Joseph H. Roshell was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Leiser Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerome Gerum officiated. Carl Cronquist sang "How Great Thou Art", and "In the Garden", accompanied by Carmen Filtz. Interment was in Bohemian Cemetery. Pall bearers were Frank Buresh, Walter Ebert, Harold Dressler, Herman Kaiser, Victor Stanek, and Eugene Turecek. The Cadott Lions Club attended the visitation as a group at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott.
