JOS. ROSCHELL, DRYWOOD PIONEER DEAD

DEATH CAME SUDDENLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON CAUSED FROM RHEUMATISM

The death of Jos. Roschell, Sr., aged 83 years and 3 months, occurred at 5:00 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, March 12 at the home of his son, Jos. Jr. in Drywood, with whom he had made his home for several years. Mr. Roschell had suffered from rheumatism for some time, he was active however to the last and death came suddenly.

Deceased was born in Bohemia, December 12, 1843. At the age of 31 years he with his wife and small children came to America, settling at first in Quarry, Iowa, where they lived for some time.

He has been a resident of Drywood for many years, settling at first on a wild piece of land, which he developed into one of the fine farms in that vicinity.

His wife preceded him in death about eight years ago, leaving one son, Jos, Jr., and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Naiberg to mourn his death.

The funeral was held from the home at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon the members of the Bohemian Lodge officiating at the services. Interment was made in the Bohemian cemetery in Drywood.
