Emma V. Sebesta

Emma V. Sebesta, 91, Town of Arthur passed away at her home Thursday morning, Nov. 15.  She was born Sept. 19, 1888 in Iowa County, the daughter of Joseph and Frances Namesteak Vlasnik.  They moved to the Township of Arthur when she was thirteen years old.  She attended schools in Iowa and Chippewa Counties.

On April 9, 1907, she became the bride of Wencel Sebesta.  They armed in the township of Arthur until 1940 when they retired and moved to Crescent.

She was preceded in death by her husband in October, 1965, a daughter, Arleane McIlquham, two brothers, Charles and John Vlasnik, and a sister, Libby Stanek.

Survivors include two sons, Charles of Crescent, and Dr. Alois J. Sebesta of Shawano; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Roth of Cadott, and Mrs. Mathilda Smith of Chippewa Falls, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Leister Funeral Home, Cadott, with the Rev. David Hein officiating.  Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carl McIlquham, Polar, Leroy Roth and Victor Stanek, Cadott, Alfred Vlasnik, Boyd, Dr. Ray Vlasnik, Eau Claire, and Frank Buresh, Chippewa Falls.
