Mary Sedivy

Mary Sedivy, 88, Town of Arthur, died Friday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls.

She was born June 9, 1892 in Bohemia, the daughter of Joseph and Frances Josifek. She came to the United States when she was seven.

She married Joseph Sedivy in the Town of Arthur March 11, 1910 and they armed there. She moved to the Golden Age Home here in 1977.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1942, and two sons Rudolph and Henry.

Surviving are a daughter, Emma (Mrs. Alfred) Svoma, Cadott; two granddaughters, Donna (Mrs. Tom) Wiles, Milan, Mo., and Nancy (Mrs. Gary) Boese, Bloomer; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott, with the Rev. Warren Bailey-Turner officiating.

Pallbearers were Jerry Josifek, Bob Josifek, Charles Sedivy Sr., George Peterlik, John Svoma and Gary Boese.

Organist was Carmen Filtz. Laraine Post sang "Nearer My God to Thee", and "He Will Take Care of You".
