Mary Sobola Mary Sobola died October 4, 1988 at Golden Age Health Care Center in Roseville Mn. She was born Mary Hudecek on September 8, 1889 in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States in 1920. She married Oscar Sobola May 9, 1925 in Chicago IL. They moved to the town of Arthur in 1927 where they farmed until 1950. They lived on a small acreage near the Bohemian Hall on Highway 17 until 1981, when they moved to Roseville MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar 1984, brothers Frank Hudecek and John Hudecek. Survivors included daughters Georgiana Sobola and Lillian (George) Bednar, brother Joseph Hudecek of Berwyn IL, granddaughter Susan ( David) Brostrom and Wendy Bednar of St. Paul MN and Marjorie Norling of Willmar Mn. Grandson Bryan Bednar of St. Paul Mn. Great-granddaughters Carolyn and Anna Brostrom and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Friday October 7th at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with the Rev. Steven Kaste officiating. Music was provided by organist Carmen Fritz and Soloist Lorriane Post. Burial was in the Bohemian Cemetery, Cadott. |

Mary Sobola ROSEVILLE, MINN. - Mary Sobola, 89, Roseville, Minn., formerly of Cadott, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1988. She is survived by two daughters, Georgiana Sobola and Lillian Bednar, both of St. Paul, Minn.; one son-in-law, George Bednar of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, Joseph Hudecek of Berwyn, Ill.; four grandchildren, Marjorie Norling of Willmar, Minn., Susan Brostrom and Wendy and Brian Bednar, all of St. Paul, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Carolyn and Ann Brostrom of St. Paul, Minn.She was preceded by her husband, Oscar. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Cadott. Friends may call from noon until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. |
