Last Rites Held Here Saturday for Mrs. Libbie Stanek Funeral services for the late Mrs. Libbie Stanek were held at the Leiser Funeral Home at two o'clock Saturday afternoon with Rev. E. T. Anderson of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, officiating. Pallbearers were Sylvester Stanek, Alfred and Jos. Vlasnik, Ed Hickethier, Chas. Sebesta, and LeRoy Roth. Members of the Gold Star Mothers formed a guard of honor as the casket was removed from the funeral home to the Bohemian National Cemetery where interment was made. Mrs. Stanek passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital at 12:40 p.m. last Thursday afternoon after a long illness. She was born in Cobb, Wis., Iowa County on July 7, 1894. On March 3, 1911, she was united in marriage to Joseph Stanek, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Stanek lived on a farm north of Boyd until 1944, when she moved to Stanley, living there until 1953, at which time she moved to Chippewa Falls to live with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Buresh. She was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge, Cadott; the Gold Star Mothers, Chapter 6, Chippewa Falls; and of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include six sons: Victor of Cadott; Willis and William of Boyd; Theodore, Isabel, S. Dak.; George, Augusta; and Edwin of Chippewa Falls; two daughters: Mrs. Earl (Marcella) Wilhelm of Wausau, and Mrs. Frank (Alvina) Buresh, Chippewa Falls. Also surviving is one brother, Chas. Vlasnik of Cadott; and three sisters: Mrs. James (Emma) Sebesta, and Mrs. Clarence (Bessie) Roth, both of Cadott, and Mrs. Felix (Matilda) Smith of Eau Claire. Her husband, two sons and one brother preceded her in death. |
