Henry "Hank" Svoma

TOWN OF ARTHUR ― Henry "Hank" Svoma, 79, resident of the town of Arthur, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 9, 1994, at the Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire.

He was born Feb. 13, 1915, in the town of Arthur to Frank J. and Mary (Najbrt) Svoma. He grew up in the town of Arthur.

He had worked in the Dakotas and later had been employed in Milwaukee. He returned to the Cobban area where he lived and farmed. He retired at the age of 65.

Survivors include five brothers, Frank "Fritz" Svoma of Stanley, Alfred "Hob" of Cadott, Elmer "Ham" Svoma of Chippewa Falls, Victor of Cornell and Dr. L.R. "Jiggs" of Strum; three sisters, Helen Patten of Eau Claire, Rose Perone of Cadott and Vilma Struck of Altoona; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Joseph Frank Svoma Sr. and John Albert Svoma.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott. The Rev. Steven Kaste will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to services. The body will be cremated.
