Mrs. Frances Vlasnik, Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Vlasnik, 84, longtime Crescent resident, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Leiser Funeral Home here. The Cadott Z.C.B.J. Lodge No. 141, which organization Mrs. Vlasnik belonged to, was in charge of the funeral. Bohemian and English services were conducted by William Buresh, Sr., and Rudy Muska, respectively. Mrs. William Roshell and Mrs. Eugene Turecek sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", the Bohemian version of "Just As I Am", and the Bohemian song "Jiz Te Neni". Burial was at the Bohemian Cemetery. Pallbearers were LeRoy Roth, Charles Sebesta, Victor Stanek, Joe Vlasnik, Rudy Vlasnik and Dolphus Smith, Eau Claire. Mrs. Vlasnik was born Frances Namestek on Feb. 16, 1866 in Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States in 1882 and a year later, on Jan. 17, 1883 married Joseph Vlasnik. They lived at Highland, Wisconsin for 18 years before moving to Crescent. Mrs. Vlasnik stayed at Crescent until five years ago, at which time she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Libbie Stanek, in Stanley. She died there Friday at 3 p.m. following a long illness. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Bessie) Roth, Cadott; Mrs. W. J. (Emma) Sebesta, Crescent; Mrs. Frank (Matilda) Smith, Eau Claire; and Mrs. Libbie Stanek, Stanley; and two sons, Charles, Crescent; and John, Chippewa Falls. Two sisters, Mrs. James Krajcek and Mrs. Catherine Petru, one brother, John Namestek, all of Nebraska; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren also survive. Her husband preceded her in death in 1933, and one son, Joseph, died in infancy. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Novak, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Novak, Highland, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wienkes, Fennimore, Wis.; Frank Tomas, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tomas, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tomas, all of Cobb, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Studnicka, Muscoda, Wis.; Dr. and Mrs. Alois Sebesta, Shawano, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Vlasnik of Milwaukee. |
