Mary Hoffman, daughter of Matthias Hoffmann and Anna Mary Fixemer, was born April 25 1856 in Barton, Washington County, Wisconsin. She was baptized June 1 1856 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, Nabob, Wisconsin1. She married William Zimmerman February 1 1876. Mary died March 24 1924 at the home of her son, Richard, in the Town of Delmar, Chippewa County, Wisconsin after 67 years, 10 months and 28 days of life.2 The cause of death was apoplexy. Mary's obituary appeared in the Friday, March 28 1924 edition of the Boyd Transcript. Funeral services were held March 27 1924 at St. Joseph's Church, Boyd, with the Rev. Joseph Colling officiating. She was laid to rest March 27 1924 in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Boyd, Wisconsin.
